B-CC SENIOR SELECTED TO
PARTICIPATE IN MED WEEK
2003 CONFERENCE
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA -- Bethune-Cookman
College senior David Pierre-Louis has been selected to participate
in the 21st annual National Minority Enterprise
Development (MED) Week 2003 Conference in Washington, D.C. September
28-October 1.

National MED Week is the largest federally
sponsored activity held on behalf of minority business development.
In an effort to reach out to aspiring entrepreneurs, an Emerging
Business Leaders Summit (EBLS) will be held in conjunction with the
conference.
Pierre-Louis, a Business Administration major
and native of Miami, Fla., has been awarded a full Conference
package, including hotel and transportation.
Pierre-Louis is one of 15 students chosen to
represent the Southeast Region in the week-long summit sponsored by
the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development
Agency.
“Being a part of the conference will allow to further
enhance my abilities to empower business owners as well as those
aspiring to own a business,’’ Pierre-Louis said.
Bethune-Cookman
is a comprehensive college, which offers degrees in liberal arts as well
as professional fields, such as business, education and nursing. A
United Methodist Church-affiliated school, the college has a diverse
and international student population of more than 2,500 and a solid
reputation for academic excellence. As evidence of its outstanding
program, the College has been listed in the Templeton Honor Roll of
Character Building Colleges and Universities, and it was ranked by Black
Enterprise magazine as one of the “Top
50” schools in the nation for black students.
