PRIESTER PARAMORE JOINS B-CC COLLEGE ADVANCEMENT STAFF

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Bethune-Cookman College Vice-President for College Advancement Sumner Hutcheson III has announced the appointment of Sherry Priester Paramore as Director of Foundation Relations

Sherry Priester Parramore
Director of Foundation Relations

A 1991 graduate of Bethune-Cookman College, Paramore received her master’s degree from the University of Central Florida in Public Administration. She returns to her alma mater experienced in working with government agencies and community organizations throughout central Florida.

“Ms. Paramore comes to us with an impressive portfolio of experience in federal, state, and local grant programs,” Hutcheson said. “Additionally, her reputation for building community programs and partnerships with customer-service orientation precedes her. I am confident Ms. Paramore’s enthusiasm and energy will complement the College’s fundraising effort.”

Paramore comes to B-CC from Specialized Grant Services, Inc., where she serves as president/CEO.  The company specializes in grant research, composition, submission, and management, as well as grant writing workshops and technical assistant services for non-profit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, goal setting and program development.

Her previous assignments include the American Red Cross of Central Florida, the United States Department of Justice, the Center for Disease Control (Orlando, Fla.), and Seminole (Fla.) and Lee (Fla.) Counties Governments.

As Director of Foundation Relations, Paramore will focus on securing grants and funding from various private foundations, exploring new funding opportunities while strengthening current relations with existing donors that will sustain the College’s mission into its second century of service.

“I enjoy grant writing, but it feels especially gratifying to be able to do it for Bethune-Cookman College, ’’ Paramore said. “This institution has always been near and dear to my heart.”

Bethune-Cookman is a comprehensive college, which offers degrees in liberal arts as well as professional fields, such as business, education and nursing. A United Methodist Church-affiliated school, the college has a diverse and international student population of more than 2,500 and a solid reputation for academic excellence. As evidence of its outstanding program, the College has been listed in the Templeton Honor Roll of Character Building Colleges and Universities, and it was ranked by Black Enterprise magazine as one of the “Top 50” schools in the nation for black students.
