DAYTONA BEACH, FLA- Bethune-Cookman College’s Department of Mass Communications will host its 9th Annual Mass Communications Conference on Friday, November 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the newly dedicated Performing Arts Center located on the college campus. The theme for this year’s conference is “Mass Communication: Creativity in the Age of Convergence.”

Well-respected motivational speaker and award-winning public relations strategist, Treva J. Marshall will serve as the keynote conference speaker. In an effort to expand its collaboration with other institutions, the Mass Communications Department has invited Florida A& M University’s Director for Career Development Services in the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication to serve as the luncheon speaker.  Faculty and students from area colleges and universities in addition to Florida Memorial College and Edward Waters College will also be in attendance.

The Department of Mass Communications is housed in the Division of Humanities at B-CC, and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees with concentrations in Journalism, Broadcast Production Technology, Public Relations and Media Management.

The public is invited to attend. Registration fee for the conference is $7. For more information please contact Ms. Cathis Hall, Conference Chairperson and Instructor in the Department of Mass Communications at 386-481-2718.
