CHRISTMAS PROGRAM  TO HONOR DR. BRONSON AND FAMILY

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA- The favorite Christmas songs and carols of Bethune-Cookman College President Dr. Oswald P. Bronson, Sr. will highlight the annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 7 p.m. in the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Art Center.

Sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs in conjunction with the Department of Music under the direction of Dr. Rebecca W Steele, the program entitled “Rhapsody of Christmas” will pay tribute to Dr. Bronson, who will retire June 30, 2004.

The B-CC Concert Chorale, along with members of the Saxophone Quartet, Jazz Band, Young Artists and faculty members, including Gail Robinson-Oturu, soprano; Curtis Rayam, tenor;  Jean-Ronald LaFond, bass-baritone; and Karen Walwyn, pianist, will be featured.

“It’s the first Christmas Concert in our new Performing Arts Center,’’ Steele said. “That along with honoring Dr. Bronson will make it a special event.”

A reception will follow the concert, which is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact the Office of Cultural Affairs at 386-481-2771.
