BETHUNE-COOKMAN COLLEGE AWARDS TENURE, PROMOTIONS

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.  FL -- Bethune-Cookman College has awarded tenure to Dr. Herbert Thompson, Jr.

Dr. Herbert Thompson Jr.

Dr. Thompson, Professor and Department Head of Biology, joined the B-CC faculty in 1985.  He was promoted to associate professor in 1991 and to professor in 2002.

In addition, the College announces several faculty promotions.  Dr. Walter Fordham, Sr., has been promoted from associate professor to professor of Physical Education.  Five assistant professors have been promoted to the rank of associate professor:  Dr. Valentina David, associate professor of Physics; Dr. Lawrence Fausti, associate professor of Reading; Dr. Kenneth Lindberg, associate professor of Biology; Dr. Morrison Obeng, associate professor of Computer Science; and Dr. Elsie Wanjohi, associate professor of Mass Communications.  Dr. Deborah Freckleton has been promoted from instructor to assistant professor of Reading.
