AMBASSADORS TO SPEAK AT B-CC’S 23RD ANNUAL MODEL
UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE

Elam Thomas, the United States Ambassador to Senegal and Sylvia
Stanfield, America's
first Black woman ambassador to Brunei are just a few of the guests scheduled to speak at
Bethune-Cookman College’s 23rd Annual Model United
Nations Conference (B-CC MUN). Opening session will begin Wednesday,
February 4 at 7 p.m., and continue thru Saturday, February 7 in the
Wendell P. Holmes Building located on the college campus.
Model United Nations (B-CC/MUN) was founded in
1979 following the participation of several B-CC students in a
similar program at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
During the conference, participants will
simulate the proceedings of the United Nations Economics and Social
Council (ECOSOC) Plenary.
“As an extension of classroom, Model United
Nations provides a unique opportunity for students to gain valuable
knowledge of global issues and how to resolve them, Said Dr. Chiazam
Okoye, Assistant Professor of Political Science and B-CC Model
United Nations advisor.

Bethune-Cookman
