U.S. AMBASSADORS  TO SPEAK AT B-CC’S 23RD ANNUAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -Harriet Elam Thomas, the United States Ambassador to Senegal and Sylvia Stanfield, America's first Black woman ambassador to Brunei are just a few of the guests scheduled to speak at Bethune-Cookman College’s 23rd Annual Model United Nations Conference (B-CC MUN). Opening session will begin Wednesday, February 4 at 7 p.m., and continue thru Saturday, February 7 in the Wendell P. Holmes Building located on the college campus.

Model United Nations (B-CC/MUN) was founded in 1979 following the participation of several B-CC students in a similar program at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

During the conference, participants will simulate the proceedings of the United Nations Economics and Social Council (ECOSOC) Plenary.

“As an extension of classroom, Model United Nations provides a unique opportunity for students to gain valuable knowledge of global issues and how to resolve them, Said Dr. Chiazam Okoye, Assistant Professor of Political Science and B-CC Model United Nations advisor.

For more information or to apply online, visit the B-CC MUN website at www.cookman.edu or contact Dr. Chiazam Okoye at (386)-481-2529.
