``HE WHO FINDS A WIFE”  TO BE PRESENTED AT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. --Bethune-Cookman College faculty member Jontoinette White presents the encore performance of her comedy stage play He Who Finds a Wife on Saturday, April 10th  at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center.  Showtime is 7 p.m.

After the sudden death of his wife, Pastor Melvin Jones (portrayed by Cornell Mack) finds himself surrounded by women who believe they are supposed to be the next First Lady of New Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church.  Will they succeed? Not if Adelene Hawkins (portrayed by Brenda Weathers), the church secretary for eighteen years, can help it! In a secret prayer meeting, she receives a strange prophecy about her future husband, and she devises a wild scheme to get her man.

White, an English professor in B-CC’s General Studies Division, has authored several comedies. Her other plays include the following:  Who Do You Roll With?, which explores peer pressure among  black adolescents,  Someone to Love Me depicts the rigors of college life, and  Seeds At the Gate takes a comedic look at complex marital relationships.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door and can be purchased at the Bethune-Cookman College cashier’s office, Family Bookstore at 1808 International Speedway Blvd, or Divine Deliverance Ministries at 836 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd.  For more information, contact Nathan White at (386) 316-0148.
