B-CC CELEBRATES
CONSECRATION SERVICE
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The
Rev. Charles E. Graham challenged Bethune-Cookman College’s summer
graduating class not to “confuse a destination with their
destiny” during his remarks at Senior Consecration on Friday, June
25 in Heyn Memorial Church.
Pastor of Allen A.M.E. Church in Daytona Beach,
Fla., Graham presented the seniors with a four-point plan to stay on
course to find their ultimate purpose in life and not that of the
moment.
“Stay between the lines, watch your speed,
know where you are going and follow the signs,’’ Graham said.
“Life is what God does through you.”
The service of consecration, held on the eve of
summer graduation ceremonies, included the traditional lighting of
the candles by retiring Bethune-Cookman College President Dr. Oswald
P. Bronson Sr. for the final time.
Due to inclement weather, each graduating senior
candidate joined the processional line of faculty and staff and
filled the aisles of Heyn Chapel singing, “Walk in the Light,
Beautiful Light.” The entire group closed the ceremony singing
Bethune-Cookman College’s Alma Mater.
