COMMUNITY INVITED TO BETHUNE BIRTHDAY
CELEBRATION
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The public is
invited to attend the Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Birthday Party on
Saturday, July 10, 2004 from 3-5 p.m. in the parking lot behind the
Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center, 698 W. International
Speedway, Daytona Beach.
Celebrating the 129th birthday of
the founder of Bethune-Cookman College who also and the National
Council of Negro Women, the event will feature children and youth
performers as well as refreshments. Admission is free.
Earlier in the day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the
Daytona Beach section of the National Council of Negro Women will
hold a sweet potato pie baking contest in the Wendell P. Holmes
Building on the B-CC Campus. Proceeds will benefit NCNW community
projects and programs.
Individuals, organizations, and businesses can submit
entries for $6, $15 and $25, respectively. For applications and more

Bethune-Cookman
